Manatee Public Beach Located on the northern edge of Anna Maria Island, Manatee Public Beach is home to some of the whitest sands on the gulf of Florida. Following a storm or at low tide, this can be an excellent beach to go shelling on. This beach has full amenities including bathrooms, sand volleyball courts, and lifeguards on duty. This is a popular beach for both locals and those visiting the island. Coquina Beach Located on the southern end of Anna Maria Island, Coquina beach is a great spot for both couples and families. The sand is a beautiful mix of crushed sea shells and white sands so it has a beautiful ivory color. Coquina Beach is a full service beach which includes grill stations, lifeguards on duty, bathroom facilities on both the north and south end of the beach, and beautiful sunsets. If you plan on grilling, plan on showing up by 10am to ensure you get a grill spot during the seasonal months (November-May) It even has the Coquina Beach Café which offers food and both alcoholic and soft drinks. This is a great spot to have a beer and grab a snack while on the beach. They also have beach umbrella and beach chair rentals available for the day.
